Instructions for oral presentation

Oral presentation

Oral presentation abstracts will be published in the abstract book, which is a special edition of JHSE.

Technical parameters of slides: version, aspect ratio, embedded video files

The slideshow file can be recorded in all Microsoft Office file formats (any version, including Office 2013). If your presentation contains any video, it should be embedded in a PowerPoint file document and the videos should be in ‘wmv’ or ‘avi’ format. Slides must be clear and easy to read from a distance - charts with detailed data are to be avoided.

Available technical devices laptop sound, using a Macintosh

All the rooms are equipped with typical presentation hardware. A notebook (core i7 4GB RAM), will be on the lectern, will show you the time remaining. In the booth room a backup notebook will be managed, if necessary, by one of our plan technicians.

Slide center presentation upload schedule, method

A fully equipped working room will be at speakers’ disposal on site throughout the Congress. Please report to this room on your arrival to the Congress venue. Speakers who want to change their presentation material will be able to do so in this room. You will find a technician ready to help you if necessary. Reach the SRR not later than 2 hours before your speech.

All the presentations will be uploaded, by a technician, through Tecno Slide software. The file is copied on the main server, on the backup server and immediately in the right room.

Gong Show presentations

Gong-show presentation

A Gong-show is a short oral presentation in which a maximum of 4 slides are shown in exactly 90 seconds. Upon the time expires, the sound will be turned off and the next presentation is coming.

Please note that Gong-show presentation abstracts will not be published in the abstract book, which is a special edition of JHSE.

E-poster presentations

E-poster presentation

Please note that E-poster presentation abstracts will not be published in the abstract book, which is a special edition of JHSE.

Every author must submit its poster in PDF format to [email protected] not later than two weeks before the congress (e.g. 31 May 2015). The maximum size of the files to be upload is 20 MB, excluding the video file.

PDF file

Accepted file format for submission: PDF

The screen dimensions we suggest are in the horizontal format, 16:9 ratio. Please consider that the file will be opened with a viewer that fits the scale of the display screen, independently from the screen dimension you have chosen. Therefore the format is most important than the absolute measure. Different sizes will be visualized anyway, but they can not appear to fit with the entire display monitor.

Maximum size: 3.840 pixels x 2.160 pixels.

Resolution: 72 dpi.

File size limit: 20 MB

Number of pages: 3-4 pages, no more than 10 pages

One-page poster is the most simple option, but consider that a multipage file is supported. In this case, it is better to limit your file to 3-4 pages (not more than 10 pages).

We suggest to prepare your poster in a Powerpoint file, 16:9 ratio, and when ready save it in PDF format. Of course, dimensions of the text and of the figures have to be chosen accordingly with the size of the screen.

Mp3 File – Audio

Mp3 audio format is suggested to use. The maximum duration for audio files to be uploaded is 5 min.
